Andrew Martinez

Andrew Martinez, PT, DPT, DN1, IASTM-Cert - Clinic Director

Andrew received his BS in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology from UTEP in 2011 where he developed a strong passion for exercise and human movement. Following his undergraduate studies, Andrew worked as a strength and conditioning coach training athletes from middle school to Olympic and professional sports settings. During this time he also taught undergraduate exercise physiology labs at UTEP. Andrew then went on to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 continuing his studies at UTEP. Since completing his doctorate, Andrew has been working with Border Therapy Services full time as a physical therapist.

Clinical Expertise

Andrew has treated patients of all ages in a variety of clinical areas including post-operative, orthopedics, sports rehab for recreational and competitive athletes, geriatrics, fall prevention, and work related injuries. He has taken additional coursework in Dry Needling, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), spinal manipulation, and orthopedic manual therapy. He also serves the community by providing acute physical therapy services at local hospitals over the weekends. He practices an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to treatment, with a strong emphasis on corrective exercise, postural re education, manual therapy, and patient education.
